I guess I saw him coming,
It still took me by surprise.
A different man, a different place,
But the same look in his eyes.
He looks so good,
When he kisses so good.
And it feels so good,
But it’s no good.
I’m a once burned, twice shy woman with a jaded eye,
Wants it all and nothing less.
He’s a big, bright shiny looking white knight,
Waiting with an ice cube in his chest.
And his words won’t mean a thing,
When you’re waiting for a king.
Why settle for the jack of hearts.
You can’t be safe and sorry,
I just had to take the leap.
But in candle light it’s hard to see,
That the water’s not that deep.
Tonight I’ll play it smart.
Won’t wake up in his arms this time.
